Weddings

If you are considering getting married at St James the Great or Our Lady & St Nicholas, here’s what you need know and what to do next.

Weddings in our churches are open to those who live in the parish and also those who have a qualifying connection to the parish.

After an initial conversation, you’ll need to meet with the Vicar to go through a few things – the information we need in order to get the paperwork right and to discuss the options available to you.

Every couple getting married is invited to a Marriage Preparation Course. The promises you make on your wedding day seal your love and commitment to each other for the rest of your lives, and the course will help you to think about the words and all that they mean.

A good wedding cannot be thrown together in five minutes and we want you to feel your wedding was not just a good one, but the best you have ever been to!
