It is with some sadness that I have to announce that the June 2024 Birstall Post will be the last with me as editor.
No future editions of the Birstall Post, Rothley Post or the Mountsorrel Post are planned beyond June 2024.
The health reasons I have decided to retire, more suddenly than I would have liked.
Since the end of March, I have had several surgeries on my eye and will probably need more, which would make it impossible for me to do my job and keep to deadlines. I work alone and have no staff to take over.
I hope to find someone to hand the business over to so that the Birstall Post/Rothley Post/Mountsorrel Post can continue at some future date.
I would like to thank all of our advertisers and contributors for their support – without them the paper would not have survived.
Special thanks to our volunteer distributors for their efforts making sure the paper is delivered each month without fail.
I have been editor of the Birstall Post for 36 years, with a year out in 1990/91, and I hope all my readers have enjoyed their monthly copy of the paper over the years.
